6 WEEKS TO WALKERS

We have a dedicated Baby Unit designed specifically for the unique needs of little ones aged 6 weeks to walkers. Located on the ground floor, our rooms are bright and spacious, featuring a playroom, a quiet room, and a changing area to cater to all aspects of your baby's day. Our baby rooms are beautifully decorated and equipped with a fantastic selection of age-appropriate resources that we regularly refresh. Our main goal is to create a joyful, safe, and nurturing environment where children can learn and grow to their fullest potential. Your baby will benefit from continuous love and care from a dedicated team of experienced Nursery Nurses, alongside a qualified Key Worker. This individual has expertise in understanding young babies and their specific needs, ensuring your child receives tailored attention. We welcome babies from just 3 months old. We value collaboration with you to understand your baby's individual needs and routines, striving to follow these as closely as possible. Each child is assigned a Key Worker who builds a trusting relationship, providing security and comfort, helping your baby to feel at ease in their bright, positive environment. At the beginning of each session, we encourage you to share details about your baby's sleep, any health concerns, or anything else you feel is important for us to know that day. When you come to pick them up, we will provide you with an update on their day, providing you with peace of mind that your baby has been well cared for. Our Baby Unit team is committed to nurturing your child, helping them transition smoothly into nursery life. Each day is filled with fun, interaction, and plenty of love and care from our exceptional nursery staff. Creating a happy, safe, and loving space for your child to flourish is our top priority.

All staff have a minimum of Level 3 Childcare and all have obtained Food Hygiene, Child Protection and First Aid certification

ORANGE ROOM:

The Power of Self-Directed Discovery

Welcome to the Orange Room where we are delivering care for children from mobility to 2 years old! This space is designed to allow your toddler to explore and grow. Each day, we organise the children into smaller groups, following a well-planned daily routine that encourages both stimulation and social interaction in a friendly environment.

In the Orange room, we adopt a themed approach for our daily activities, which last for about one month. These themes include stories, music, arts and crafts, sand and water play, and cooking. This structure supports your child's transition to our pre school room when they reach the appropriate age.

In both the Orange and Red Rooms, we prioritise rest time with a designated sleeping area, recognising that many children still need a daytime nap. We understand how vital sleep is for your child's overall happiness and development.

RED ROOM:

Nurturing Growing Independence

Welcome to the Red room! Here, we support children as they transition from our baby room to the toddler room. Our focus is on helping children aged 2 to 3 years explore and learn through play and creativity.

Buttercups is a welcoming, bright space with designated areas for creative play, relaxation, and even naptime when needed. Our team is dedicated to nurturing language development while providing a variety of engaging learning experiences.

Our daily activities are thoughtfully planned and include art, crafts, singing, dancing, construction, Storytime, and both sand and water play, along with opportunities for imaginative role-play. We’re committed to making learning fun for your child!

GREEN ROOM:

School-Ready Adventurers: Blending Play with Learning

The pre-school School Room offers a wonderful variety of learning areas, including a bright and inviting role play area, a cosy reading corner, and a dedicated arts and crafts area. Our fully qualified practitioners lead the School Room, providing engaging lessons in both English and basic Welsh.

Our curriculum is based on The Foundation Phase, ensuring that each child's day is well-structured to prepare them for their future school journey. We embark on exciting projects that align with the curriculum and last for at least one month. These projects encompass various types of learning experiences, including stories, music, art and craft activities, as well as engaging water and sand play, and fun cookery sessions.

We also have a well-equipped garden, which all age groups can enjoy. It features different play areas designed for various ages, allowing children to experience the joy of fresh air and outdoor play. Our Green Room team is dedicated to fostering language development and providing children with diverse learning opportunities.

BREAKFAST & AFTERSCHOOL CLUB

Our Breakfast Club and Afterschool Club welcomes children aged 5 to 12 years. We operate from 7:00 am to 9:00 am and again from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

This service is designed to support busy parents and carers by providing childcare before and after school. During the morning session, children will enjoy a nutritious breakfast, and in the evening, they will be served a two-course tea. Our facilities offer a range of engaging resources, including age-appropriate games, arts and crafts, and plenty of play opportunities. Rest assured, your child will be safely taken to and from school with all their belongings. Our nursery vehicles are clearly marked, fully insured, and roadworthy. We conduct daily vehicle checks and comprehensive annual transport and school risk assessments to ensure safety.

OUR OUTDOOR AREA

Engaging Outdoor Play Areas

At A Bright Start Nursery, we recognise that outdoor play is a vital part of every child's learning journey. Our safe and specially designed outdoor spaces allow children to explore, play, and thrive in nature, no matter what the weather brings. With a well-placed canopy, fresh air and outdoor fun are a part of our daily routine, even on those rainy Welsh days. This approach encourages physical activity and helps develop gross motor skills while fostering resilience and adaptability in our little ones. From puddle-jumping to cloud-watching, every outdoor moment is a chance for joyful discovery and sensory exploration.
